To All 1st Lake Residents, First and foremost we would like to extend to you our sincere wishes that you, your family and friends have made it through Katrina safe and sound. The devastation caused by Katrina has touched all of our lives in one way or another. Many of our properties have sustained substantial damages. It is
of the utmost importance to us to see that all of our residents have a
safe, sound place to reside. We are working 7 days a week to try and
assess damages to each apartment. Many of our employees have lost their
homes, some have not been able to return to work and some will not be
returning. Unfortunately, this along with the lack of service providers
and supplies, has made the job of getting back to normal, challenging. 1st Lake Properties is committed to restoring and rebuilding the
numerous properties that have been damaged as a result of this event.
Our communities survived the storm with damage ranging from minimal to
severe. Our first priority is to restore your apartment homes with as
little down time as possible. Soon, you will receive information
detailing options regarding remaining in your apartments, depending on
the severity of damage. We have posted a notice at each Rental Office explaining what
options are available to you, as our residents. You can also call or
visit the Rental Office and we will explain these options in person. We
have taken into consideration those of you who will not be able to
return, those of you who had substantial damage and those of you who
are fortunate enough to not have any damages. We feel that the options
are reasonable and fair. To those of you who sustained substantial damage and can no longer
occupy your apartment, we will do our best to place you in another
apartment within your current property or place you at another
community. Please call or visit the Rental Office for assistance if you
need help in relocating. During the next few weeks, we will be going door to door, handing
out additional information on the status of your apartment and/or
property. If we are unable to contact you in person it will be posted
on your door. We ask that you please read all notices left on your
door. This information is meant to inform you of the status of your
apartment and/or property. If you have any questions, you can contact
the Rental Office. Our staff will be working very hard to see that
everything is handled as quickly as humanly possible under these
unusual circumstances. We ask for your patience and understanding
during this process. We would also like to inform those of you who might have lost
employment that we are currently hiring, and are in need of,
management, leasing, A/C maintenance, general maintenance and grounds
personnel. Again, please contact the Rental Office for additional information. 1st Lake Properties has been in business for over 35 years. We
intend to overcome this hurdle and to do everything in our power to
restore our properties and our service to you, back to the manner to which you are accustom. Working together, we will rebuild for the future. |
